Girl Guide Badge Day 2012

On Saturday, May 5th, the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Engineering welcomed over 150 Girl Guides and their leaders from the greater Ottawa and Outaouais regions to the annual Girl Guide Engineering Badge Day. The girls, ranging in ages from 8 to 12, participated in fun engineering activities animated by students from the Faculty.

Jianping Yao’s University Research Chair in Microwave Photonics has been renewed. The University Research Chair programme is established to recognize outstanding accomplishments in research by professors who maintain a solid teaching record.
Azzedine Boukerche receives the IEEE Computer Society Meritorious Service Award

IEEE conferred this award on Professor Boukerche in recognition of his significant services as a founding leader for several workshops and fostering an international research community on performance evaluation of wireless ad hoc networking and mobile computing
