uOttawa Engineering “Bridge” Program with Algonquin College and Cité Collegiale
Beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year, University of Ottawa will allow college students and graduates from Algonquin College and Cité Collegiale to use some of their credits towards a full Engineering degree at the University of Ottawa. Algonquin College students who have graduated from the Electrical Technician Program or completed the two years of the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program at Algonquin College will be awarded advanced standing at the University of Ottawa. This advanced standing is equivalent to one full-time semester (15 credits) to be applied to a related University Engineering degree (B.A.Sc.). Cité Collegiale students who have completed three years of the Technologie du génie informatique program will receive advanced standing at the University of Ottawa. This advanced standing is equivalent to one full-time semester (15 credits) to be applied to a related Computer Science degree (B.Sc.). For Cité Collegiale students who have completed the first two years of the Technologie du genie électronique program, they will be awarded advanced standing at the University of Ottawa. This advanced standing is equivalent to one full-time semester (15 credits) to be applied to a related University Electrical Engineering degree (B.A.Sc). To help college transfer students finish their degrees in only 3 years, the Faculty of Engineering is pleased to offer a series of courses designed to “bridge” the difference between their college credits and the University curriculum. These “Bridge” courses will complement their college education and enable college transfer students to jump directly into the second year of their degree.
