Professor Receives IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Distinguished Service Award

imageThe Faculty of Engineering would like to congratulate Dr. Emil M. Petriu, University Research Chair Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ottawa, for receiving the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Distinguished Service Award in Austin, Texas.  Dr.  Petriu was recognised for his “outstanding leadership during more than ten years of AdCom membership, including service as General Chair or Program Chair of five IMTC conferences, and as Co-chair of TC-15, TC-28, and TC-30.”

Prof. Petriu has also received in 2003 the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Technical Award “for contributions to image processing systems, robotics, virtual reality and applications of artificial intelligence, fuzzy logic and neural networks.”

The Faculty of Engineering is proud of Dr. Petriu and his numerous contributions to the international academic community.  We remain committed to combining excellent teaching with world-class academic research and international cooperation at the Faculty of Engineering.  Over his career, Dr. Petriu has achieved all of these goals.
