Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. Student receives best paper award

Mr. Patrick Richer, Ph.D. student from the Mechanical Engineering Department and supervised by Dr. B. Jodoin has received the best paper award at the International Thermal Spray Conference, held in Las Vegas from May 4th to 7th.

Mr. Richer’s paper entitled “TEM Microstructural Investigation of MCrAlY Coatings Manufactured by Cold Gas Dynamic Spraying” was chosen amongst more than 400 papers that were presented at the conference. Mr. Richer is currently completing his Ph.D. work on the development of nanocrystalline coatings for gas turbine engines.
