Department Chair, Marc Dubé is named a Fellow by the Chemical Institute of Canada

image Dr. Marc Dubé who currently heads the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. Professor Dubé’s prolific research in the area of polymers from renewable materials and sustainable polymer production methods for pressure sensitive adhesives and biodiesel fuel production has led to many discoveries.

Most recently, his work in biodiesel production has led to the creation of a spin-off company (BioDiesel Reactor Technologies, with his colleague André Tremblay).

Dr. Dubé has shown his leadership skills as an active member of the CIC on the local as well as the national level, having been Chair of the Ottawa local section, a CSChE Board member, Technical Program Chair of the 2008 CSChE conference, and recently, Department Chair at the University of Ottawa.

The Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) is the national, not-for-profit, umbrella organization that encompasses the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC), the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) and the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology (CSCT).

The CIC Fellowship is a senior class of membership that recognizes the achievements of CIC members.
