Carlisle Adams named interim The School of EECS (formerly SITE) director

Professor Carlisle Adams will serve as interim the School of EECS (formerly SITE) director while current director Emil Petriu takes is on academic leave, from July 1 to December 31, 2011. Some of Professor Adams’ research interests include cryptography, network security, computer security, access control and privacy.
Prior to his appointment at the University of Ottawa, Professor Adams worked for 13 years in cryptography and security engineering in the high-tech industry in Ottawa. He was senior cryptographer at Nortel Secure Networks, the business unit within Nortel that formed Entrust. At Entrust, he held the positions of senior cryptographer, senior manager-standards program and principal architect-advanced security.
This appointment takes effect July 1, 2011.
