IEEE Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC)

“From Passion to Practice”

Thursday, March 15th, 2012 at 6:00PM.

This formal dinner event aims to bridge the gap between students and their career goals. SPAC offers students and employers a unique opportunity to network with each other in a professional environment along with professionals and academics representing the field of Engineering.

The SPAC 2012 theme, “From Passion to Practice” is our interpretation of what to do next with our ideas. Students have so many places to draw inspiration from; however, once they have been enlightened with an idea in their field of study, lifestyle or other areas of interest it is not always clear what to do next. The goal of our theme is to give students more background and guidance to evaluate the next steps in materializing their ideas. SPAC will host three speakers; one from entrepreneurial background, academic background and industry background to speak about his/her year’s theme of “From Passion to Practice”.

For over the last 6 years, IEEE SPAC has been organized by the IEEE Student Branches of Carleton University, University of Ottawa, and Algonquin College.
