Faculty of Engineering

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund

Canada and other developed countries are facing increasing international competition with regards to innovative products and services - from research and development to manufacturing, commercialization and marketing.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Endowment Fund at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Engineering was created to address these challenges by better equipping students with technical and non-technical skills. As such, graduates will have a competitive edge that will resonate well with the business and technology communities.

Established with a $1 million gift, this transformative investment will significantly contribute to the improvement of the Faculty’s programs and will be a valuable and symbolic gesture that will motivate others. To measure the ongoing progress of this important initiative, the University will review the activities and impact of the Fund, disseminating results annually.

Purpose of the Fund

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Endowment Fund will support entrepreneurship initiatives, providing the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering with the flexibility to seize new opportunities that will raise student awareness of the importance of business skills. This leadership gift will foster a culture of business and entrepreneurship among students - a primary goal of the Faculty.
