Biography:
Professor Roger Milane received his Diplôme d’ Ingénieur section Électro-Mécanique from Université Saint-Joseph in Lebanon in 1976. Afterwards, he pursued graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan where he earned his Ph.D. in 1982.
His research during that time concentrated on modeling flame propagation in internal combustion engines. After graduation, he spent two years at the University of British Columbia as a postdoctorate investigating experimentally flame propagation in swirling flows.
In 1985, Dr. Milane joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa. His earlier work concentrated on investigating both experimentally and mathematically misfires in swirling flows. Recently, Dr. Milane has focused his research in numerical computation of fluid dynamics and combustion, applying vortex methods to basic flows.
