Biography:

Professor Eric Lanteigne holds both a Bachelor’s (2003) and Master’s (2006) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, and a PhD (2011) from the Royal Military College of Canada. His general field of interest is robot design and development, and path planning for highly articulated manipulators. Professor Lanteigne has worked on a number of robotic projects including the development of a miniature manipulator module with shape memory alloy actuators, track-mounted mobile robots for the agricultural industry, and mechanisms for extracting pooled water and bitumen deposits from the pipes for the trench-less rehabilitation of municipal water mains.
Professor Lanteigne the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa in August 2011. His current research interests include the design and development of a flexible robotic mechanisms, mobile robots and UAVs. Professor Lanteigne currently teaches the capstone project course for the fourth year mechanical and biomedical engineering students.
