About us

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is characterized by its dynamic and innovative approach to both Engineering education and research.  As part of the largest officially bilingual university in Ontario, it plays a unique role in serving both Anglophone and Francophone students from across Canada.

Our Mission

Our department exists to generate and disseminate knowledge to meet the ever-changing needs of society and particularly to prepare students to practice their chosen profession in an increasingly competitive global market. 

We seek to maintain high quality, broad-based programmes that will provide our students strong Chemical Engineering fundamentals and the following: problem solving skills; a commitment to professionalism and ethical practice, an appreciation for health, safety and environmental issues; communication and inter-personal skills; a desire and ability for life-long learning; teams skills; and an ability to adapt to change.
