Colour Plotter Information

The Faculty of Engineering has a HP DesignJet plotters which produce high quality colour posters at a low cost for faculty staff and students.The plotter is located in CBY room B105.

Plotter Costs and Policies

Cost of print outs

The cost of posters / plots is $5 a square foot which is calculated by a software. For example, if your poster is 8 1/2” x 11” ( a standard letter page) the cost will be $3.22.
Refund policy

In the event that plotting output is unacceptable, the ECF will consider re-printing at no cost on a case-by-case basis. However, re-printing will not be provided in the following situations:

  • Output is unacceptable due to client errors such as spelling mistakes or misplaced graphics.
  • A print preview has not been completed.
  • A preview was completed and the imperfection is visible on the preview.
  • Colours or images are not what the client expected, and the plotter is behaving normally.
  • Clipped or “chopped” output.
  • The plotter produces flawed results for any reason, but the client decides to use the results anyway.
  • The file was not printer with the provided HP Designjet Plotter drivers.
  • Appropriate margins were not used.
